PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out detection of the presence of liquid droplet delivering of all nozzles of a liquid droplet delivering part in a short time by a liquid droplet delivering apparatus such as an inkjet recorder.;SOLUTION: A light emitting element 102 and a light receiving element 103 are arranged opposite to each other near a nozzle formation face 101a of a head 101. A reflecting light 115 which passes areas A2 and A1 to be reflected by the nozzle formation face enters the light receiving element together with a direct light 113 which is a light from the light emitting element and passes the detection area A2. When the delivering is to be detected, every two nozzles are driven sequentially one by one within a predetermined period Tc at predetermined time intervals Ti for every period Tc, whereby the ink liquid droplets are delivered one by one. Ti is set so that a term is produced in which delivered two drops of the ink liquid droplets 109 and 110 are simultaneously present within the area A2. A detection signal according to a change of a quantity of receiving light of the light receiving element due to light blocking of ink liquid droplets which pass A1 and A2 is output.
