PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of an inkjet recording medium, which is excellent in ink absorbency, surface gloss and image quality and in which no microcrack develops.;SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the inkjet recording medium, after an upperlayer coating liquid including a polymer emulsion having a polymer compound (A), which shows hydrophilic nature in a temperature range not higher than a certain temperature (a temperature sensing point) and hydrophobic nature in a temperature range exceeding the temperature sensing point, is coated on an underlayer formed by a coating liquid including at least a pigment, a binder and polyhydric alcohols on a support and, while the coating layer is being under a moist state, the coating layer is brought into a pressingly contact with a heated solid mirror-finished surface so as to give gloss to the surface of the coated layer.
