PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which can inhibit the deterioration of the coated surface, a method for preparing the same, further a method for producing a transparent protective film using the coating composition, and organic glass having the transparent protective film. PSOLUTION: The coating composition comprises a mixture of raw material polymers composed of a transparent polymer having a hydroxyl group and a polysilazane, and a mixed dried solvent composed of a first dried solvent of a good solvent for the transparent polymer and the polysilazane and a second dried solvent of a poor solvent for the transparent polymer. The method for preparing the same comprises a first preparation step of preparing a solution containing the raw material polymers and the first dried solvent, and a second preparation step of adding the second dried solvent to the solution. The method for producing a transparent protective film comprises a preparation step of preparing the coating composition, a coating step of coating the coating composition on the surface of a substrate, and a curing step of curing the coating composition.
