PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-dip Sn-Zn-plated steel sheet free from hexavalent Cr and Pb, which has excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, and is suitable particularly as a material for a motor fuel tank.;SOLUTION: The hot-dip Sn-Zn plated steel sheet having superior corrosion resistance and weldability is a hot-dip Sn-based plated steel sheet with a hot-dip plated layer comprising 1-8.8 mass% Zn and the balance 91.2-99.0 mass% Sn with unavoidable impurities formed on the surface of a steel sheet. The plated layer has a structure having Sn dendrite crystals elongated into a shape of an arm, and an Sn-Zn binary eutectic structure fills the space among the arms of the Sn dendrite; and has a surface-treated film made from a trivalent chromium compound in an amount of 3 to 50 mg/m2 in terms of metallic chromium formed on the surface of the plated layer.
