As the packet data is transmitted, the packet data control channel in the portable communication system which possesses the packet data control channel which can transmit the control information it is related to the transmission of the packet data (F-PDCCH) the receiving device and the method of using this are offered. In the F-PDCCH receiver, the decoding section decodes the symbol which is received, calculates the absolute value of difference between information language and two route metric. The error warning decrease section by comparison with the threshold value which the absolute value which is received from the decoding section beforehand is set, following to the result of comparison, outputs the decoding value which shows whether or not error warning occurs. The optional transmission section detector detects optional transmission section on the basis of the absolute value which is received from the decoding section.
