PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength of a sintered compact of powder for compacting in its production by utilizing a gel forming material as a binder. PSOLUTION: At least powder for compacting, gel forming material powder and a solvent are mixed at a temperature lower than the dissolution temperature of the gel forming material powder. In this case, the time required for increasing the amount of the gel forming material powder by 5 wt.% when held in an atmosphere heated at 30°C and having a relative humidity of 100% is controlled to ≥50 min.
