PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional method that a defect of applying an unnecessary mode switching operation to an apparatus has been caused.;SOLUTION: An information apparatus with a function of acquiring and determining an IP address of its own apparatus from a server in a network connection in compliance with the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) or the like applies re-lease processing of the IP address when the information apparatus has to shift to a power-saving mode until a lease period of the acquired IP address expires to delay the shift to the power-saving mode until the processing is completed thereby suppressing a restoration operation for the re-lease processing of the IP address just after the shift to the power-saving mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
