PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect foaming due to increased boiler water concentration by associating it with feedwater pump on-off control for improvement on boiler operation convenience.;SOLUTION: The detection/control system has a logical contradiction detection means 11 for detecting the logical contradiction of 'flow level detection electrode OFF/high level detection electrode ON' during on-off control for giving feedwater instructions, a logical contradiction continuation determination unit 15 for monitoring if the logical contradiction continues longer than a time period specified in advance, a logical contradiction dissolution frequency integration unit 16 for integrating logical contradiction dissolution frequency in a specified time period, and a boiler water concentration detection/control means 12 provided with an operation restart propriety determination unit 17 for deciding, based on the integrated number of logical contradiction dissolutions, if it is proper to restart boiler operation. The system, wherein boiler anomalies are detected by utilizing feedwater on-off control aided by an installed software program without necessitating concentration sensors, enables the restart of boiler operation when the integrated number is small.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
