PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a user to information, which a search engine cannot find, by evaluating similarities among communities without depending only on searching keywords.;SOLUTION: Communities comprising a plurality of information groups on the Internet are generated, and the characteristics of the generated communities are expressed as vectors. Then, the similarities among the plurality of communities are computed, and information included in communities of high similarity is provided to users. In order to find the vectors, important words are extracted from the communities to evaluate the importance of the words. When an information retrieval request is received from a user, information which exists in communities of high similarity in a topic is sequentially provided to the user based on the similarities among the communities.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
