PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a new microorganism capable of carrying out degrading treatment of hardly degradable substances in sewage and wastewater, especially colored components thereof and realize an original method for treating the sewage and wastewater using the microorganism.;SOLUTION: This microorganism degrading the hardly degradable substances is characterized as comprising a filamentous fungus LM12 strain (FERM P-18194) of the genus Penicillium. The method for treating the sewage and wastewater G comprises culturing the LM12 strain in a reaction vessel 2, introducing the sewage and wastewater G into the reaction vessel 2 and carrying out the degrading treatment of the hardly degradable substances in the sewage and wastewater G.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
