PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered compact which contains few retained austenite phases, namely consists of substantially an austenitic single phase, and has high density, high specular gloss, high corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength.;SOLUTION: A raw powder for sintering comprises a powder of an austenitic stainless steel and a powder of a Ni-based additive. A granulated powder for sintering is granulated from the powder of a Ni-based additive and the austenitic stainless steel by using a binder. A method for manufacturing the sintered compact comprises molding the raw powder for sintering or the granulated powder for sintering, and sintering it at 1,200 to 1,400°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
