PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol timing synchronizing device that can improve the synchronization accuracy of symbol timing in a multi-carrier CDMA system, and at the same time, can reduce the computational complexity and cost. PSOLUTION: A correlation detecting section 1 detects a pilot symbol by detecting the cross correlation between the waveform of a received signal and a replica, indicating the transmitting waveform of the pilot symbol. The received signal is inputted to an in-phase adder 2 provided inside the correlation detecting section 1 and in-phase added over a plurality of unit periods (GI+1 symbol). A correlation detector 3 outputs a correlation value between the in-phase added received signal and a reference signal (the transmission signal replica of a pilot signal) outputted from a reference signal outputting section 4.
