PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring color tone by accurately estimating a spectral reflection factor of printed matter from a result obtained by executing multi-spectrum measurement by reducing the number of channels. PSOLUTION: In a computer 14, the ink color is separated from printing colors of prescribed reference printed matter to specify regions occupied by the respective colors as to the respective colors except the ink color. In the computer, an ink transfer function for specifying the relationship between multi-spectrum information related to the ink color and the spectral reflection factor is obtained; each color transfer function for specifying the relationship between the multi-spectrum information and the spectrum reflection factor is obtained for every color according to the region occupied by each color; and the spectral reflection factor is estimated from the multi-spectrum information obtained by multi-spectrally measuring commercial printed matter based on the ink transfer function and the respective color transfer functions.
