PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have good coking resistance and regeneration deterioration resistance by a method in which the SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of zeolite, the particle size of primary particles, and the ratio of a surface melting point to the total melting point in a H-type are made specified values, after steam treatment in specified conditions, the amount of separated pyridine in the previous H-type meets an equation. ;SOLUTION: The mole ratio SiO2/Al2O3 of zeolite which constitutes a zeolite catalyst is made 20-200, and the particle size of primary zeolite particles is made 0.3-3μm. The ratio of a surface melting point to the total melting point when the zeolite catalyst is an H-type is made 0.03 0.15. Moreover, the quantity B of separated pyridine at 500-900°C by a temperature increasing separation method, when the zeolite catalyst, after being treated with steam for 5hr at a partial pressure of 0.8atm and at 650°C, is the H-type and the quantity A of separated pyridine at 500-900°C by the temperature increasing separation method, when the catalyst is the H-type before steam treatment are made to meet an equation (α expresses a parameter).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
