PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a similar part character string detecting method, a device, and a program improving the detecting accuracy of a similar part character string and to provide a recording medium recording the same program.;SOLUTION: This similar part character string detecting method compares a plurality of strings or one parts of a single character string to detect the similar part character string, or a similar part in the character string. This method, at first, detects an accorded character string (s), or the completely accorded part of the character string. Then, another accorded character string (s) existing in a prescribed gap F is searched and linked with the accorded part character string (s), and a similar process is repeated to the accorded link part character string (s) so as to link the accorded part character string (s) thereto in order via the gap G.
