PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape vector generating device, a shape vector generating method, and a shape vector generating program for generating a shape vector free from positional deviation in displaying an event occurring point in a prescribed road section on decoder side and for performing accurate map matching on decoder side even when different digital map databases are used by the encoder side and the decoder side.;SOLUTION: The shape vector generating device is provided with an encoder 100 for transmitting event information, such as accidents or congestions, generated on the basis of a digital map data base 101 to a decoder 200, and the decoder 200 for displaying the event occurring point on a map shown by a digital map database 207 according to the event information transmitted from the encoder 100. The encoder 100 is provided with a feature node setting section 106 for setting a start point and an end point of the shape vector, and a crossing in the middle or the crossing near the start point or end point on a feature node, and generates feature node information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
