PSOLUTION: In a two-dimensional absolute coordinate input device having a plurality of recognition areas, a method selects and inputs corresponding preassigned information according to information on the length and direction of a segment drawn and input in each area. The plurality of recognition areas can offer a quick selection and input of information without switching of various assignments to the recognition areas, and a plurality of information assignments to each recognition area can reduce the number of necessary identification areas below the number of actually selected and input pieces of information.
