PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply predict a residual cornering force and a residual self- aligning torque. PSOLUTION: The mean value of pneumatic trails of a plurality of tires having the same structure as a tire 27 to be measured is determined and stored (held as a database). Then, a ply steer and a ply steer moment of the tire 27 to be measured are measured. The residual cornering force and the residual self- aligning torque can be simply determined by operating the mean value of the pneumatic trails, the measured ply steer and the measured ply steer moment by a computer.
