PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten accuracy and to improve safety of near distance measurement of a radar device. PSOLUTION: This radar device 100 has a transmission part 101 for transmitting a transmission wave signal to a target, a reception part 102 for receiving a reflected wave signal, a switch control part 103 for switching so that transmission to the target and reception therefrom have mutually reverse phases, FFT 141 for generating a target beat signal based on the reflected wave signal, and a virtual image signal determination part 203 for determining whether the beat signal generated by the FFT 141 is a virtual image signal for showing a virtual image of the target or not based on a null point where the reception sensitivity of the reflected wave signal becomes in the non-sensitive state by an optional switch frequency. The device is also equipped with a distance calculation part 205 for calculating the distance to the target based on the beat signal determined to be no virtual image signal by the virtual image signal determination part 203.
