PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a poly(meth)acrylic fiber having a small size fiber diameter and a high strength, excellent in transparency and weatherability and having fusing properties suitable for a nonwoven fabric, and provide a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: This poly(meth)acrylic fiber has 5-50 μm fiber diameter of its monofilament and ≥1.75 cN/dTex tensile strength. This method for producing the poly(meth)acrylic fiber is to use an organic solvent solution (spinning solution) containing 70-99 wt.% high molecular poly(meth)acrylic acid and/or a poly(meth)acrylic acid ester having ≥100,000 weight average molecular weight and a low molecular poly(meth)acrylic acid and/or poly(meth)acrylic acid ester having 1,000-50,000 weight average molecular weight and spin the solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
