PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of moisture in an interior sealed by a heat- shrinkable film to prevent a packed material from rusting by performing dry treatment so as to decreases a moisture content of rust-preventive paper and a shock absorbing material to a specific value or less immediately before heat- shrinking treatment of the heat-shrinkable packaging film. ;SOLUTION: The method for packing a metallic material to be packed for wrapping a metallic material or a metallic material and a shock absorbing material with antirust paper, further packaging it with a heat-shrinkable film and heat-shrinking includes a step of performing drying treatment so that a moisture content immediately before heat-shrinking is 18 g/m2 or less for the rust-preventive paper and 75 g/m2 or less for the shock absorbing material. The shock absorbing material dried in a shock absorbing material drying device 2 is mounted on a laminated metallic sheet M carried on a conveyer 1, and the rust-preventive paper R which has been dried in advance in an rust- preventive paper drier 3 is rolled on a turn table 4.
