PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level recognition processing device and a liquid level monitoring system for recognizing and processing an image imaged by a camera without misrecognition, and detecting accurately the liquid level position. PSOLUTION: This device is equipped with a region setting means S21 for setting a liquid level search region, a liquid level scale setting means S22 for designating the scale for reading the liquid level in the image, a mask region setting means S23 for removing an obstacle included in the image from the liquid level search region, a recognition object region selection means S31 for dividing the liquid level search region in the vertical direction to the liquid level into slits having the prescribed width, and selecting a slit which is a recognition object, a liquid level detection means S32 for detecting the position where the change of an image color value in the moving direction of the liquid level becomes maximum as the liquid level position in the selected object region, and a liquid level value operation means S33 for operating a liquid level value based on the scale set beforehand and the liquid level position.
