PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape recognition device capable of being miniaturized by eliminating especially the need of constitution for rotating an object to be a three-dimensional shape recognition object and obtaining the three- dimensional shape data on the object more easily than before. SOLUTION: In this shape recognition device, a CPU 10 measures the distances of each distance measuring point 32 set on an image pickup surface 41 of an imaging device 21 and an object B, and obtains the respective distances as distance measurement data. Also, the CPU 10 obtains the two-dimensional image data of the object by making the imaging device 21 pick up the image of the object B, and calculates the two-dimensional contour line vector data and two-dimensional boundary vector data of the object B based on the two-dimensional image data on the object B. Then, the CPU 10 converts the vector data into three-dimensional vector data based on each distance measurement datum. Thus, the three-dimensional modeling data on the object B are prepared.
