PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxy resin mixture which has a crystallizing property at ordinary temperature, has excellent handling workability, can express an excellent low viscosity in a melted state and is useful as a powder coating material, by compounding a tetrabromobisphenol A type epoxy resin and a bisphenol type epoxy resin in a specific ratio. ;SOLUTION: This epoxy resin mixture comprises (A) 40-95 pts.wt. of a tetrabromobisphenol A type epoxy resin of formula I [(n) is 0-1 on the average] and (B) 5-60 pts.wt. of a 4,4'-bisphenol type epoxy resin of formula II [(m) is 0-0.5 on the average]. The mixture is preferably obtained by reacting a mixture of tetrabromobisphenol A with 4,4'-bisphenol with an epihalohydrin in an amount of 4-40 moles per mole of the mixture of the phenol compounds in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide. The mixture of the tetrabromobisphenol A with the 4,4'-bisphenol is prepared so as to finally give the above ratio.
