PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering control device allowing a driver to be continuously less burdened with steering operation even when a failure occurs in maintenance for detecting steering toque.;SOLUTION: The electric power steering control device comprises a main sensor 1a and a sub-sensor 1b for outputting torque signals T₁, T₂, respectively, a motor 2, and control means 30 storing control data D1 fixing a relationship between the steering torque and the steering assisting force of the motor 2 for determining the steering assisting force of the motor 2 in accordance with the torque signal T₁ and the control data D1 when a difference between the torque signals T₁, T₂ is within a certain range. The control means 30 stores control data D2 for reducing the steering assisting force on the same steering torque in comparison with the control data D1 and utilizes the control data D2 when the difference between the torque signals T₁, T₂ is outside the certain range.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
