Use compounds of formula (I) and (II) as perfumes is new. R1, R2 = Me or Et; R3 = H or 1-4C linear or branched alkyl; R4 = H, 1-4C linear or branched alkyl or R5C(O)-; and R5 = H or 1-4C linear or branched alkyl. Also claimed are: (i) compounds (II); and (ii) preparation of (II) using (I) as a starting material.
