PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation system identification circuit capable of obtaining high identification accuracy even when a state of a transmission line between wireless stations is unknown, and to provide a receiver provided with the same, a wireless station, and a modulation system identification method. SOLUTION: The modulation system identification circuit of this invention is provided with: a reception signal conversion means that receives a reception signal modulated by any modulation system among plurality of predetermined modulation systems and converts the received signal into an orthogonal signal expressed on an orthogonal coordinate; a likelihood calculation means that respectively calculates a likelihood of each modulation system by a prescribed method on the basis of a likelihood system calculation signal value with respect to each signal point determined in advance based on each constellation of a plurality of the modulation systems and of the orthogonal signal; and an identification discrimination means that identifies the modulation system of the received signal on the basis of a plurality of likelihoods.
