PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to produce the high-accuracy forming die with smaller man-hours by determining the coefft. of thermal expansion of an optical glass material and determining the forming die at the time of room temp. by thermal deformation simulation using the coefft. ;SOLUTION: This system has an input device 16 for inputting a command for executing prescribed instruction and physical quantity, such as coefft. of thermal expansion, a display device 12 for displaying the results of the simulation and the result of shape measurement, etc., an arithmetic processing device 14 for executing various kinds of arithmetic operation and display processing, etc., and a shape measuring machine 18 for measuring the shapes of the given forming die and the formed glass material. The data measured by the shape measuring machine 18 is inputted via a communication cable to the arithmetic processing device 14. The system is merely necessitated to be so constituted that the measurement data is inputted from the shape measuring machine 18 to the arithmetic processing device 14 when the measurement mode is assigned by the input device. A so-called contact type measuring instrument constituted by having a probe for making measurement by coming into contact with a measuring object and a signal processing section for subjecting the detected signal of the probe to signal processing and outputting the data as shape data may be used for the shape measuring machine 18.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
