PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate resources which are left without being recovered in a server machine when a client-side process and a server-side process operate on different machines in the client-server type data base management system. SOLUTION: When a client side makes a request for connection, an operating system start order identifier reporting means 1a informs the server side of an identifier representing the start order of its operating system and the server side retrieves an execution body having the same network address managed by an execution body managing means 2a, by an execution body retrieving means 2b, selects an execution body of an old start order identifier by a start order identifier comparing means 2c, and recovers the execution body and the resources that the execution body has acquired by a recovering means 2d. Consequently, the power source of a client machine is turned off after it makes a request to access the data base, and the resources left on the server machine are recovered just when the client machine is restarted up and sends a connection request.
