A superimposed display possible radar device for an electronic chart

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To superposingly display an electronic chart on radar images even in a relative movement mode which requires the electronic chart to be relatively and continuously moved (updated) in accordance with the actual movement of a ship where the radar apparatus is installed while the ship is fixed on a display device. ;SOLUTION: A read address to be read out from a chart memory part 8a with a read angle rotated is generated by a chart memory part-reading/ controlling part 5b in accordance with a set azimuth display mode AZDM. A chart image data Mvdc of one horizontal scan is read out from the chart memory part 8a based on the generated read address and stored in a horizontal scan memory part 12. The chart image data Mvdc is mixed with a radar image data Rvdc by a mixer 9. Accordingly, even when a position of the ship is fixed on a display device 10 even in a relative movement mode, the chart image and radar image can be displayed in an overlapping manner.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
