PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for a TDR test of a link table connected to a network.;SOLUTION: In the time domain reflectiometer having a first impedance in a first test mode and having a second impedance in a second test mode, the first impedance is substantially equal with a polynomial characteristic impedance of a network link cable which is not connected to the network, and the second impedance is substantially different from an impedance of a network link cable which is terminated to the network. A method of measuring the length of the terminated network cable includes a step for judging that the network cable is terminated on the network, a step for selecting any suitable test mode for checking the terminated network cable, and a step for performing the time domain reflectance measurement check of the terminated network cable.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
