摘要
"Production process of phenol of high reactivity from the demethylation of wood creosote phenols obtained from wood tar. Creosote, oil fraction obtained from wood tar, is presented with great potential to replace some conventional adhesives, especially for their phenolic composition. However, the reaction of the creosote compounds with formaldehyde is not satisfactory in function of the low reactivity of these compounds. This is due to the low number of sites reactive phenolic unit. Thus, the invention described here promotes increased reactivity of these phenols by demethylation of metoxu00edlicos groups into hydroxyl. With this modification, are produced new phenolic compounds with more positions that the original reactive phenolic units, so that the phenol synthesized possess reactivity similar to that of catechol. To carry out the demethylation was used bromu00eddrico acid (HBr) as an agent desmetilante. The reaction was done using the fraction of approximately between 180 and 300 u00b0 C distilled creosote and the acid bromu00eddrico in approximate molar ratio 2: 1 (HBr: creosote), under magnetic stirring until temperatures around l30u00b0c.The breaking of the sheets metoxu00edlicos of most compounds was confirmed primarily by the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) supported by the analyses by gas chromatography. The increased reactivity of phenols was established through the technique of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
