NUCLEIC ACID MOLECULE, VECTOR, HOST CELL, PART VIRUS TYPES, METHOD TO PRODUCE VLPs, VACCIN, PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS, AND, METHODS TO PREVENT INFECTION BY AN IMPLEMENTATION BY HPV IN IMPLEMENTATED MEASURES specifically, the present invention provides polynucleotides encoding the HPV 52 L1 protein, wherein said polynuleotides are codon optimized for high level expression in a yeast cell. In alternate embodiments of the invention, the nucleotide sequence of the synthetic molecule is altered to eliminate transcription termination signals, which are recognized by yeast. Synthetic molecules may be used to produce HPV 52 virus-like particles (VLPs) and for vaccines and pharmaceutical compositions comprising HPV 52 VLPs. The vaccines of the present invention provide effective immunoprophylaxis against papillomavirus infection by antibody neutralization and immunity. can be used to treat existing HPV infections.
