Method for the Regiospecific Synthesis of a 42-HEMIESTER RAPAMICIN OR 32-HEMIESTER OF FK-506 WITH A DICARBOXYLIC ACID, 42-HEMIESTER OF RAPAMICIN RAPAMYCIN, 32-HAPESISPHERICINE RAPAMICIN, Methods for the synthesis of regiospecific rapamycin 42-hemiesters and regiospecific FK506 32-esters with dicarboxylic acids are described. The methods involve catalyzing the reaction between a rapamycin or an FK-506 and a dicarboxylic anhydride or an activated bifunctional dicarboxylic acid ester with a lipase.
