In the present invention, there are disclosed pharmaceutical compositions containing effective amount of a nucleoside analog active against herpes simplex virus being selected from the group consisting of penciclovir and famciclovir and effective amount of immunosuppressant or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester of any of the aforementioned components.
