In the present invention, there is disclosed the use of the compound of the general formula I in a free base or veterinarily acceptable salt form, preferably in the form of hydrochloride acid addition salt, for the manufacture of a medicament for the therapy of secondary pneumonia in swine associated with Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleuropneumoniae and/or Haemophilus parasuis infection as well as a process for the preparation of such medicament by mixing a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of the general formula I in the free base or veterinarily acceptable salt form together with at least one veterinarily acceptable carrier or diluent.
