The invention relates to a method for extracting anions based on metals of the V group to the VII group of the periodic table from the aqueous solution thereof. To this end, compounds or general formula (I) are used as an extracting agent, whereby a maximum of two of the R¹, R², R³ and R4 represent hydrogen atoms, and the remaining alkyl groups or amino alkyl groups which are optionally branched and which are the same or different represent, on average, at least 5 carbon atoms. The inventive method is especially suited for extracting tungsten from molybdenum and from solutions containing tungsten. An additionally preferred method is used for the extractive separation of cobalt and nickel from aqueous solutions containing cobalt ions and nickel ions.
