This invention relates to a test rig that incorporates venturi effect to detect missing components in engines. Drop in pressure due to excess flow of air through the venturi indicates absence of components in the engine especially in engine oil lubricator circuit which houses many small components which are essential for its trouble free opration. A pressure sensor and gauge are connected to the sensing side of venturi. Display means are provided to indicate high and low pressure. Based on the values, the engine may be removed for rechecking. This invention also includes a method of testing an engine for detecting missing components therein, using the rig described herein above.
