A process for manufacturing siloxane monomers, alkylpolysiloxane, arylpolysiloxane and their copolymers, such as Poly (siloxane-co-epoxy), Poly (siloxane-co-urethane) and Poly (siloxane-co-vinyl ester) has been developed. These resins were used in formulating high performance coatings. For this purpose, one part and two part systems with curing at room temperature have been invented. These resins have been used for making high performance coatings for zero surface energy substrates such as glass, porcelain and also metals. These polymers also act as adhesion promoters and primers for high performance coatings. The process involves the synthesis of silicone monomers, preparation of linear Polysiloxane pre-polymers and its copolymers, in a viscosity range from 500 to 60,000 cps. The conditions of preparation of silane monomers, and their polymers and copolymers were optimized to achieve desired properties. These resins were compounded with inorganic fillers, organic pigments, adhesion promoters and additives to achieve the desired properties. They find wide usage in power industry for high voltage application and for corrosion protection inchemical and allied industries.
