MODIFIED PROFILE IMPROVED HERRINGBONE GEAR IMPELLER ASSEMBLY FOR USE IN GEAR PUMP

The present invention relates to an improved modified profile herringbone gear type of impeller assembly for use in gear pump. The impeller is of smaller diameter with higher length to handle high "capacity of liquid at high rotational speed with low peripheral velocity and inertia to make the pump efficient and silent. The adverse effect arising out of this is taken care by floating gear design, higher diameter of the shaft and providing sleeves on it. Modifying the gear profile with non-standard pressure angle changes the gear profile in a manner to trap more liquid in the tooth gap, to make the tooth extremely strong and to avoid under cutting on the gears while in rotation in a closely meshed condition.
