Concentric inner and outer channels extending in a circular direction and having a U-shaped cross-section are provided on the underside of the lid (2) and in the rim of the cup. The inner channel (5, 5') is used to transport the beverage to the drinking spout (3) and the outer channel (6, 6') is used to transport air to the inside of the cup. The lid can be rotated through a small angle relative to the cup in order to open or close the cup. The cup has a round cross-section and the lid contains a drinking spout or opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for continuously drinking from the cup using a sucking action, in which whenever the cup is held in a slanting position with the cover rotated into the open position, the beverage is sucked in via the inner channel at the same time as air is made to flow via the drinking spout and outer channel into the cup.
