Two or more rigid arms (8) are secured inside pre-formed cavities (12) in a vertical cellar wall (7) on the sides facing away from the cellar foundation (9) and are also secured inside preformed cavities (11) in the foundation on the side facing the latter. The arms are capable of compensating for forces acting upon the cellar as a result of a change in groundwater level. The cellar is secured to a foundation, preferably a steel or concrete foundation beam.
