Hot runner for injection molding, designed to operate in combination with multi cavity mold comprising half sections designed to position cavity parts relative to each other

The mold half-sections (20, 21) are designed to position the mold cavity parts relative to each other in order to compensate for differences in thermal expansion. A hot runner (1) for injection molding is used in combination with a mold having two half-sections which include cavity parts defining more than one mold cavity (22) and comprises a casing, an injector head for mounting on the casing and needle valves (13) situated in a channel extending through the casing and in a passage in the head connecting the casing channel to the nozzles (12). The channel extending through the casing has one end connected to a molten plastic supply. The nozzles inject molten plastic into the mold cavity. The mold half-sections are designed to position the mold cavity parts relative to each other. An independent claim is also included for a mold comprising two half-sections and the above hot-runner.
