The sleeve (1) is formed by partly overlapping flaps (5) which each have a first part (7) for placing against the trunk (3) and a second part (9) for laying on the ground around the trunk. An elastic band (11) is placed around the trunk and first parts to secure the sleeve around the trunk. The first parts are rectilinear and the second parts are circle segment-shaped.
