The lead-free casting weight for fishing sport is made from steel balls and various environmentally-friendly materials, such as polymers, tungsten, and steel powder. Use is made of pre-formed replicas of plastic of existing casting weights available in commerce. The replicas have a highly varying weight and a wall thickness of one or more mm or are solid. The replica comprises two parts (1,4). In both parts is an assembly groove (2) through which an assembly thread runs. The first part (1) has a narrowed formation (3) which fits in the second part (4), after which the assembly thread fits in the groove (2) of the two parts (1,4).
