The regulating valve is for an air channel with rectangular cross-section and involves a housing with rectangular free cross-section in which the valve component with its operating mechanism is located. The valve component comprises two valve blades (2a,2b), each of which with a side edge is hinged-connected with one of two side walls of the housing opposite each other. The operating mechanisms is formed by a rod component, set in motion by a hinge pip (5) which at one outer end is formed by an operating arm (6), and with the other outer end is connected with an operating shaft (7) rotating in the housing. The hinge pin thus lies in the closed and wholly opened position of the blades accurately in the middle vertical surface (9) of the two opposing walls (1c,1d) to which the valve blades are not fixed.
