The screwdriver (10) of the multiple bit type comprises a hand grip (11) with first and second ends (11a,11b). The hand grip in its longitudinal direction is provided with several grooves (12a-12d) in each of which is an elongated component (13a-13d). Each of these components with its end (14b) is hingeably connected with the first end of the hand grip, whilst their free ends are each provided with a bit (14a). Each bit and each elongated component can be brought to first and second operating states. The elongated components with each end are hingeably connected with the end of the hand grip. For this purpose hinge devices (15a-15d) are provided with a bore in the end of the hand grip in which a pin in each end of the elongated components is engageable.
