Electronic payment device, capable of reading and writing information on bank cards inserted into slots and communicating with bank computer network

The device (2) contains two slots, each of which can receive a bank card (3, 4) and has a scanner/writer for reading information on the card and writing new information onto the card. A communication unit is used to connect to a computer network, a keyboard (10) is provided for inputting a desired transaction and a control means is connected to the scanners, writers, communication unit and keyboard. The communication unit has a fixed line connection and/or includes a transmitter. Two different users can place their bank cards into the device and one user can transfer money from their card chip (electronic wallet) to the chip on the other person`s card. An independent claim is also included for an electronic payment system comprising the device and a computer (13) which can be connected to this device and to a bank network (13, 14).
