Wood-fiber half-finished product, process for its manufacture and a compact wood-fiber particleboard consisting of such half-finished products

Described is a wood-fiber half-finished product (13), consisting substantially of compressed wood fibers, which are coated with thermosetting condensation resins. The degree of sealing of the wood fibers consists of between 30 and 60 percent by weight of solid resin in the form of condensation resin mixtures or mixed condensation resins in relation to absolutely dry fibers, wherein the solid-resin proportion of melamine formaldehyde resin is at the most 45 percent by weight, the solid -resin proportion of phenol-formaldehyde resin is less than 15 percent by weight and the wood fibers are coated with a wax layer. The invention further relates to a process for producing such a wood-fiber half-finished product (13) as well as a compact particleboard consisting of the above-described wood-fiber half-finished products.
