TECHNIQUE FOR TRANS-STERNAL REAMPUTATION OF STUMP OF PRINCIPAL BRONCHUS

A technique for the trans-sternal reamputation of a stump of the principal bronchus comprises the longitudinal sternotomy, separation of the stump of the principal bronchus, its sewing and reinforcing with bands of the greater omentum. In addition, the diaphragm sternal part is dissected sagittally. The greater omentum is mobilized to the anterior mediastinum transdiaphragmally through the sagittal incision of the sternal part of the diaphragm.
